Alberto El Patron pulls out of WCPW show due to illness

What Culture Pro Wrestling ran their “No Regrets” event on Saturday in Newcastle with several big names booked. The event aired on their What Culture Extra service for $6.99 (subscription) and on the FITE TV app for $14.99.

Names like Rey Mysterio, Cody Rhodes, El Ligero, Juventud Guerrera, and Brandi Rhodes were all on the card but one name was noticeably absent. Impact Wrestling star Alberto El Patron missed the show and the promotion told the audience that he was not there due to an illness. There was no advance warning from Alberto or Paige on their social media accounts so, as you can imagine, there were some unhappy fans at the show.

This is not the first time he’s missed a booking in recent months. He missed AAA’s “Héroes Inmortales X” show in October and claimed that it was because someone attacked him with a knife. There were conflicting stories about what happened and no one was able to find a police report on this supposed incident. He also missed WCPW’s “Delete WCPW” pay-per-view in November and the claim was that it was because of flight issues. He did make it to their “Loaded” taping on the following day.

Alberto had just worked on a show in Qatar on Friday. WCPW’s statement is below.
