Backstage news on Jeff Jarrett’s leave of absence from Anthem/GFW due to personal issues

The future of Jeff Jarrett in Global Force Wrestling is one of the big stories as they head into Bound For Glory on Sunday, November 5th. Karen Jarrett, who also holds an office position, recently took to Twitter to thank Ed Nordholm and the fans for their support of her husband while he takes care of his personal issue. So it seems like the door is open for him to return to the company. It should be noted that the “GFW” has been replaced by “IMPACT” on recent graphics posted on social media and the belief is that the paperwork to merge GFW and IMPACT Wrestling was never completed. That would mean that Jarrett would still be the owner of Global Force Wrestling.

In this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer noted that his issues are generally believed to be alcohol-related. The decision to have Jarrett take an indefinite leave of absence came as a surprise to him but there were people in the company aware of the decision shortly after TripleMania. It’s been well documented that Jarrett was not in good shape at that show and there was concern for him from people that saw him. At this point, wrestling should be in the back of his mind and I am sure I speak for everyone in wishing him well as he gets over these issues.

On the latest Jim Cornette Experience, Cornette talked about Jarrett’s leave of absence and acknowledged some of the rumors going around about his condition at TripleMania. You can listen to his comments below:
