Alberto El Patron gives his explanation on why he no-showed events during WrestleMania weekend

Alberto El Patron gave his explanation on why he was not at the Impact Wrestling vs. Lucha Underground show on Saturday night or his scheduled appearance at WrestleCon on Sunday afternoon. I should note that El Patron appeared at the Impact Wrestling “Redemption” press conference just hours before the Impact vs. LU show on Saturday night. PWInsider reported that there was concern for him and there was talk of calling the police to do a wellness check on him at his hotel room. El Patron flew back to Texas on Sunday evening. Impact opted to terminate his contract on 4/8. During his interview, he hinted at issues with Impact, despite the fact that there was a one-year deal for him on the table.

Steven Muehlhausen from The Sporting News sent us the following:

I conducted an interview with Alberto El Patron to discuss Combate Americas and the conversation led to what happened last weekend when he no-showed two events for Impact Wrestling:

What happened: “I had a family situation that I needed to attend (to). As you know, my family, my kids are my priority. The situation was involving them and that’s why I decided to take care of business and take care of my family situation. And that’s all that happened. And that comes to what I was just saying to you. I know people wanted to know absolutely everything. This only concerns my family: my parents, my sister, myself and my kids. And that’s the way it’s going to stay.”

He goes further into his relationship with Impact before the incidents, the last year for him and how much longer he will wrestle for.
