Also, referee Robert King is gone as well. He posted the following:
— Referee Robert King (@refrobking) November 2, 2017
“After a solid year of paying my own way down to Impact Wrestling to try to gain a position with the company. I have decided that I will be moving on. I feel like I will never be signed and it is time to just look for something more promising. Thank you for all that believed in me. Thanks to Earl and Brian Hebner, Brian Stiffler and the men and women in the Impact locker room. I had the time of my life and wouldn’t take anything back. Hope to see all of you down the road one way or another.”
Hebner and King’s departures follow the recent departures of Rockstar Spud, MJ Jenkins, and Marshe Rockett. Ring announcer David Penzer could also be done with the company. He is not being flown to Ottawa for the pay-per-view or the tapings because they are using a local ring announcer. The same applies for the referees. They will be using more Canadian talent next week and the word is that they will get tax breaks once they reach a quota. The local talent will also allow them to cut down on travel costs.
Names that have been released this year include: Davey Richards, Madison Rayne, Al Snow, Reno Scum, Mia Yim, Mike Kanellis, Maria Kanellis, Matt Hardy, Jeff Hardy, Reby Hardy, The Pope, Gaby Castrovinci, Taryn Terrell, Rockstar Spud, Crazzy Steve, Drew Galloway, Jesse Godderz, Aron Rex, Jeff Jarrett, Marshe Rockett, Eddie Kingston, Matt Morgan, Tyrus, Low Ki, Aiden O’Shea, Marti Belle, Davey Richards, Cody Rhodes, Robbie E, Magnus, and referee Brian Hebner.
