Sami Callahan told to stop kissing wrestlers during matches

There’s a quick note on Sami Callahan in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter. Callahan and Juice Robinson were tag team partners during the NJPW World Tag League tournament. In one of the matches, they faced off against Hiroyoshi Tenzan and Satoshi Kojima. I’ll just say that Kojima was not happy after the match.

Kojima said that Callahan kissed him during the match. He put him over as a “wonderful fighter” but admitted that he was upset when Callahan kissed him. It wasn’t just a peck on the cheek. Callihan gave him a full kiss on the lips. I am sure that would not have gone over well with a lot of wrestlers so it’s probably a good move on NJPW’s part to have him stop doing that.

The kiss is supposed to signify the “kiss of death” for his opponents. Scroll down for more.
