Kenny Omega recently spoke with Live Audio Wrestling’s Dan “The Mouth” Lovranski to talk about various topics. During the interview, he was asked about his upcoming rematch with Kazuchika Okada for the IWGP Heavyweight Championship at NJPW Dominion on June 11th. This has been a match that fans have been waiting to see again as Omega and Okada put on a fantastic match five months ago in the main event of Wrestle Kingdom 11 at the Tokyo Dome. Omega said that he doesn’t like to wash and repeat things in his matches. Instead of trying to force fans into drawing a direct comparison, he would rather showcase two completely different stories that they can appreciate. He stated, “I want the stories to be so different from each other that you can watch them apart and have something that you like.” He added that is his goal.
When asked about his future goals outside of New Japan Pro Wrestling, he said that is content with where he is at now because he wants to be the driving force behind NJPW in a global market. He said that he is just guided by the way he feels and if it makes sense. “I’m not gonna lie; there are things that I haven’t been able to do that I would love to do at some point in time.” He pointed out that he feels that he needs to have a high-stakes main event with AJ Styles. Omega said, I’m not sure where it will be. I’m just saying that it is always in the back of my mind.”
