Jeremy Borash recently spoke with Justin Barrasso of SI.com about Impact Wrestling and more. During the interview, he was asked about Matt and Jeff Hardy. “TNA has had hundreds of talents come through over its history and Matt and Jeff are in a virtual tie for most uniquely gifted performers I’ve ever worked with.” Borash said that Jeff has always been a rockstar and his creativity frightens him. Borash stated that Matt’s “Broken Brilliance” that only manifested this year and that he is the most captivatingly innovative performer to come along in years. Borash added that the combination of the two wrestlers, a drone, a gardener, gifted wife, and a future king had turned the Hardys into television’s modern-day Addams Family.
Impact Wrestling has one heck of a year with all of the financial issues that it has faced. However, the special Final Deletion match brought some positive to the promotion. When asked about the upcoming Total Nonstop Deletion special, Borash noted that the buzz surrounding Final Deletion landed Matt on every wrestler of the year award list. “Promoting a show on his own compound and injecting guys like Lashley and Eddie Edwards into that unique world, not to mention any number of unexpected guests, Matt Hardy had a premonition that Total Nonstop Deletion will be his Citizen Kane.”
Borash added that the brilliance of this match is its simplicity and that Tag Team Apocalypto is an Open Invitation Falls Count Anywhere Match. It’s open to any tag team, who wants to show up. He brought up that Matt has received a message from the Seven Deities and they have told him that if they didn’t prove that they were the greatest tag team of all time by beating The Hardy’s at Matt’s home, then it would be destroyed in a series of apocalyptic natural disasters. Borash stated that Tag Team Apocalypto will be the most amazing match ever presented on TV and will be different than anything you’ve ever seen before. “Wrestling as we know it needs to evolve with the rest of entertainment, and this will be looked back at someday as a game changer.”
