Impact Wrestling announcer Josh Mathews recently spoke with Sportskeeda. During the interview, he was asked who is the in-ring GOAT of Impact Wrestling right now. He said that it is Lashley and that he is phenomenal, amazing and probably the best athlete in the world today.
When asked about the effect of several wrestlers including The Hardys leaving Impact Wrestling. He said that there are loyalties and things like that in wrestling. He noted that it’s just the way pro wrestling goes. He noted that you don’t stay in one place forever and that guys are going to test the waters at other places and see how that feels. He said that others are going to come into other promotions and test the waters. He said that is one of the most exciting things about being in the business that you have those opportunities.
When asked if Impact will look at unconventional ways to promote the current product like The Hardys did last year. He said that you could get into the whole ratings conversation and what Total Nonstop Deletion did or didn’t do. He said that you could look at those numbers and decide for yourself if things like what they did last year made sense or things like bringing in a star like Alberto El Patron is better for the company, and you can figure that out for yourself.
Mathews was asked about the JBL bullying story to which he responded by saying no comment. You can read the entire interview here.
