Conor McGregor and Khabib Nurmagomedov have received a temporary suspension, according to Nevada State Athletic Commission executive director Bob Bennett. The news first broke on ESPN SportsCenter.
This is a temporary suspension beginning on October 15 and a hearing will be held on October 25 in Las Vegas where the commission will vote on whether indefinite suspensions will be handed down, pending the results of the investigation.
Ariel Helwani is reporting that Nurmagomedov has yet to be paid his purse from UFC 229. McGregor is likely to receive a sanction for jumping the cage and taking a swing at one of Nurmagomedov’s teammates.
Earlier today, Nurmagomedov issued a statement saying he would quit UFC if his teammate, Zubaira Tukhugov, is fired as Dana White stated at the post-fight press conference on Saturday night. You can read his statement by clicking here.
