10 Dream Matches We Never Saw in WWE

Every now and then, the stars align just right in the WWE. Whether it’s the return of a legend, a huge free agent acquisition, someone coming out of retirement, or whatever – some matches just feel bigger. The ‘dream match’ is a rare, but exciting, commodity in the pro wrestling world. We’ve seen a few legitimate dream matches over the years – The Rock vs. Hulk Hogan, Shawn Michaels vs. Kurt Angle, John Cena vs. The Rock, John Cena vs. A.J. Styles, just to name a few.

But, for every one of those matches, there are a couple that get lost in the sands of time. Bad timing, creative disagreements, injuries, money – a number of factors can play into why a dream match doesn’t take place. Let’s take a look at some of the matches we missed out on, for whatever reason.

10. Charlotte Flair vs. Trish Stratus – Which generation of women’s wrestling was the best? Stratus was the face of early 2000s women’s wrestling. She had a slew of challengers in Lita, Victoria, Jazz, etc. Likewise, Flair has become the staple of a deep division with talent the likes of Sasha Banks, Becky Lynch, and Bayley.These two are arguably the figureheads of their respective times. What would happen if the two faced off in the squared circle? Make no mistake, this is icon vs. icon.
