WWE wrapped up its Super Show-Down pay-per-view event yesterday in Melbourne, Australia. Initially, WWE had advertised that about 70,309 fans were in attendance for the show. The Melbourne Cricket Ground stadium can hold up to 1000,024 fans when it’s set up for cricket matches.
Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer reports that the WWE’s actual attendance for their Super Show-Down was in the ballpark of 62,000 fans. It’s not unusual for WWE to exaggerate about their attendance numbers, as they’ve done it several times before in the past quite regularly.
WWE gave fans a lot of reason to turn up for the event. With names such as The Undertaker, Shawn Michaels, Triple H, John Cena, The Shield, and more competing on the show. The Australian crowd witnessed some great matches, and perhaps the beginning of the return of one of the greatest Superstars of all time – Shawn Michaels.
For a show that had been hyped up for months, WWE certainly lived up to it.
