Current TNA star Al Snow was a recent guest on the Pancakes and Powerslams show. During the interview, he was asked about WWE creating a UK division. Snow stated that he thinks it’s fantastic as there are some amazing talents in the UK and that they have an amazing wrestling scene. He stated that he has a wrestling academy in London and that there’s wealth of talent that’s not been exploited over there. He stated that it’s a great opportunity for them to showcase themselves on a bigger platform on the WWE Network, which is a brilliant marketing on WWE’s part. He added that now WWE can put out content that can drive to the UK market and that exposure on the show could put a UK talent onto the main roster.
When asked about the issues surrounding TNA, he stated no benefits can come from a singular market of WWE and wrestlers as well as fans not having an alternative product. He stated that WWE would not push as hard when they have no competition compared to how much better their product is when they do have competition. “TNA is not much of a competitor, but at least it keeps [WWE] somewhat on.”
