Former WWE Champion Bray Wyatt recently appeared on Sam Roberts Wrestling Podcast to discuss various topics. WrestleMania 32 in Dallas, Texas at AT&T Stadium was brought up, and he was asked if he was disappointed with his role on the show. If you recall, WWE did an angle with The Rock doing a promo in the ring which led to The Wyatt Family confronting him. After some verbal back-and-forth, The Rock challenged them to a match, which saw Erick Rowan accept the challenge and was quickly defeated following a Rock Bottom. Enraged by this quick victory, The Wyatt Family then surrounded the Rock when John Cena ran down to the ring and helped Rock clear the ring of the Wyatts.
“I was in a very bad place at last year’s WrestleMania. Emotionally and physically I was a little beat up. It was like all that rage and anger is what drove me this year and brought me to where I’m now.”
Wyatt has a high expectation of what he wants his character and persona to be which is to be like The Rock.
“I want to be the next Rock. Being in there with him and seeing the energy that he can cause the fans to go through is an amazing thing. I don’t want to be the guy that gets beat up by The Rock. I want to be better than The Rock.”
Wyatt also talked about The Undertaker, his most memorable WrestleMania entrance, and more. You can listen to the podcast in the player below:
