Brian Cage recently talked to Scott Fishman for the Channel Guide Magazine about his career. During the interview, Cage was asked about working in Lucha Underground. He noted that LU officials have treated him well and it’s a good TV show. He added that it’s a blast to perform in front of such an awesome crowd in that arena as you can interact and feed off of them. “I feel spoiled in that you don’t get this kind of atmosphere everywhere,” Cage said.
Cage was in WWE developmental from 2008 -2009. When asked about his stint in the company, “I felt like I looked like a star from the get-go and worked pretty well,” Cage said. He added that WWE never saw him as a star because he would always lose matches and put talent over. He thinks that wins do matter in wrestling because Hulk Hogan wouldn’t have been a huge start if he had lost most of his matches. “You’re not going to be selling a lot of merchandise if you are losing all your matches,” Cage said. He added that him losing matches in WWE irritated him, but now it’s his time to shine and let loose.
