Former RAW Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair recently spoke with Brian Fritz of Sporting News to talk about various topics. During the interview, she was asked about being traded to SmackDown Live. She noted that she established herself on RAW and she feels moving to a different brand adds the pressure of reestablishing herself with a whole new group of women and figuring out where her character goes on SmackDown. She noted that the minute she left RAW, she told herself that SmackDown Live is the women’s division that you are gonna want to be on. She noted that is her mindset. “Yes, competition is in full effect because that’s kind of the point of having two brands. “Obviously, I want both brands to do well, but I’m just that competitive. I want the ‘SmackDown’ women to do extremely well and let’s see what we can do.”
When asked about her WWE career up to this point, she said that she looks at herself in NXT and look at how far she has come on the main roster. She noted that her mindset is that if she keeps working as hard as she does and keeps giving it her all, then she will continue to get better. “I’ve only even wrestled for WWE. I am NXT homegrown. I look at it that I have so much to learn. “Obviously, having my dad’s last name, I think that’s more the chip on my shoulder because it has been a mixed blessing.” She noted that she will always have the Flair stigma and that is where she deserves to be there, or she is not just his daughter. She noted that is the chip on her shoulder.
