Could another cross-brand rivalry be on the way in WWE?

WWE is lucky to have such great champions on their shows. Even if you don’t like all of them, they work hard and are willing to fight hard to keep their titles.

Raw and SmackDown have very fine Tag Team Champions right now. The Usos are running roughshod over the blue brand keeping The Uso Penitentiary on lockdown. Meanwhile, 2/3 of The Shield have finally reunited and hold the red tag titles (if you’d like to know everything that went into that roller coaster of a story it’s all in my new comprehensive book: Planning The Biggest Party Of The Summer 2017).

Even though both of these great teams are on different brands in WWE, that doesn’t mean they can’t throw some shade at each other. It all started when a rather innocent poll from WWE asked who fans thought could topple Rollins and Ambrose. The Usos jumped in and said they’d take those titles too and after Rollins replied, it was on. Since Dean Ambrose doesn’t use Twitter we’re guessing he just put on his sunglasses and smiled.

What makes this little back-and-forth very interesting is the fact that while The Usos were at a WWE live show in Baton Rouge they had a message for Seth and Dean. Never to be outdone, Rollins had a message for The Usos from Jonesboro. Not only did the cameras record their entire promo, but WWE also tweeted the message out. With this kind of official backing,  a very interesting idea could be on the horizon. However, it might very well be another example of the right hand not knowing what the left hand is doing.

Any way you want to chalk up this budding rivalry certainly has our interest because it’s a match we wouldn’t mind seeing.
