It’s the end of August and Daniel Bryan’s current WWE contract is about to expire. All indications are that he will be staying and he has said publicly that the reason why contract talks have gone on so long is that he hired a lawyer, something he did not do during previous talks and something most wrestlers don’t do. Bryan has also been talking about working a lighter schedule going forward.
His latest tweet has gotten fans talking on social media. He wrote, “Hmmm… maybe I am too small to be in WWE? 🤔”
It’s certainly interesting timing given that his deal expires on 9/1 and the All In show also takes place on 9/1 but I would not read too much into his tweet because he is scheduled for the Hell in a Cell pay-per-view where he will team with wife Brie Bella against The Miz and Maryse. He is also advertised for the Hell in a Cell pay-per-view.
Even if he doesn’t sign a deal in the next day or so, Bryan has said that he would continue under the terms of the current deal until pen is put to paper. I guess things can change at the last minute, but I would take his tweet as a lighthearted trolling attempt to get people talking.
