Did a phone call to The Taz Show lead to “Brooklyn Brawler” Steve Lombardi’s release?

The latest Wrestling Observer newsletter provided an update on Steve “Brooklyn Brawler” Lombardi’s release from WWE. He was let go, in part, due to something that was said to be a small mistake on his part. We don’t know what he did but that was enough cause for them to let him go. Considering that he was such a company soldier and he was with them for so long, I wouldn’t be surprised if he got the call to return at some point. Perhaps not right away but maybe a year or so from now.

Just prior to his release, Lombardi made an impromptu phone call into The Taz Show. Taz talked about the call on his radio show and said that he hopes that the call was not the reason why he was released from the company. For those of you that don’t know, if you work for WWE, podcast and all media appearances need to be cleared by the company.

Lombardi is currently taking independent bookings. Anyone looking to book him for a show can contact him at [email protected].
