We noted before that there were some current contracted stars being talked about for the upcoming Mae Young Classic. Well, it looks like a former WWE star might be coming out of retirement.
Pro Wrestling Sheet is reporting that Serena Deeb, who retired in 2015, has been in talks with WWE but the deal is not quite done yet. The 30-year-old was in Ohio Valley Wrestling from 2005-2009 before being brought up as part of WWE’s ECW brand. She was sent down to Florida Championship Wrestling, WWE’s developmental territory, before being brought back up as part of Smackdown in 2010. Fans will best remember her as part of CM Punk’s Straight Edge Society faction with CM Punk and Luke Gallows. It was a short run because she was released just a few months later.
Deeb continued to work on the independent scene before announcing her retirement in 2015.
