– Hideo Itami was once considered one of WWE’s top prospects when he signed with WWE in 2014. His time in the company has been up and down as he has battled injuries throughout his stint. In 2015, he suffered a shoulder injury and then at the end of 2016 he suffered a neck injury after a botched power slam from Riddick Moss that would sideline him yet again.
Itami is set to challenge Bobby Roode for the NXT Championship at this Saturday’s NXT Takeover: Chicago, which will headline the event. Itami recently took to Twitter to hype the upcoming match and noted that he has not lived up to his expectations since joining WWE. He wrote the following:
Since I've come to WWE. I haven't lived up to my expectations. But finally I will have the opportunity to show, WHO I AM.
Get ready #G2S
