Jim Ross praises brawl segment involving Samoa Joe and Brock Lesnar, comments on Charlotte Flair vs. Natalya

WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross has posted a new blog entry over at his website where he gives his thoughts on various topics. During the blog, Ross commented on the brawl between Brock Lesnar and Samoa on Monday Night RAW. Joe will be challenging Lesnar for the WWE Universal Championship at the Great Balls of Fire pay-per-view event in Dallas, Texas on July 9th. Ross praised the segment by saying bravo to all involved in the confrontation as it resonated more prominently to him than any piece of business on RAW in a good while.

“We fans are creatures of habit to a large degree and we, as a rule, dearly love to see big, tough people especially alpha males engage in physicality of which many can only dream. Seeing Joe become the first man in memory to block a Brock Lesnar double leg takedown attempt Monday night was a pivotal moment to remember in this rivalry. Without question, the Great Balls of Fire main event coming to Dallas on the WWE Network will be a sellout at the backstage TV monitors as Joe and Brock will physically bring it to level that may make some of their peers uncomfortable. SLOBBERKNOCKER level carnage!”

Charlotte Flair and Natalya wrestled each other on this week’s edition of SmackDown Live. Ross said that he enjoyed their work and is intrigued in seeing a more extended storyline between these two because he knows that the match quality and the promos would be stellar.

WWE also held a six-man tag team match that saw Sami Zayn, AJ Styles & Shinsuke Nakamura defeat WWE Universal Champion Kevin Owens, Baron Corbin & Dolph Ziggler on SmackDown Live to hype the upcoming Money In The Bank Ladder Match involving all six Superstars at this Sunday’s event.

“Nakamura, AJ, Sami Zayn, Corbin, KO, and Ziggler all certainly earned their money Tuesday night and closed the show well in their six man tag bout promoting Sunday’s MITB Ladder match in St Louis on the WWE Network.  It was a timely story leading into one of the main events this weekend.”

Ross also talked about NJPW’s G1 Special and more. You can read the entire blog here. If you haven’t done so, you can listen to the latest episode of the Ross Report by clicking here.
