Jinder Mahal to challenge for the WWE Championship at Backlash pay-per-view

Jinder Mahal won the six-pack challenge on this week’s episode of Smackdown Live to earn a shot at Randy Orton’s WWE Championship at Backlash thanks to help from The Bollywood Boyz. The other competitors in the match were Mojo Rawley, Erick Rowan, Dolph Ziggler, Luke Harper and Sami Zayn. Following the match, Randy Orton came out to the ring and said that Mahal has earned himself a prize and that prize would be an RKO.

Apparently, the company is high on Mahal. The Hollywood Boyz, Gurv and Harv Sihra, were brought in as part of the Cruiserweight Classic last year and were eventually signed to a developmental deal. They were originally earmarked for 205 Live but plans changed and they were sent back to Orlando. They were working out at the Performance Center in recent weeks and were wrestling as heels at live events.

This year’s WWE Backlash pay-per-view will take place on Sunday, May 21 from Chicago’s Allstate Arena.
