John Cena on SmackDown Live beating RAW in ratings, AJ Styles advertised as WWE Champion for post-Rumble live event

As we noted earlier on the site, SmackDown Live drew 2,885 million viewers this week. The show beat RAW in the ratings as Monday’s edition of RAW drew 2,855 million viewers. It was likely up because of John Cena’s return on SmackDown Live. Cena took Twitter to comment on the news:

– Take this for what’s worth but the Alerus Center in Grand Forks, ND is advertising AJ Styles as the WWE Champion on their Facebook page. WWE will be holding a SmackDown Live event on February 4th at the arena and is promoting Styles vs. Dean Ambrose for the WWE Championship in the main event as well as The Miz defending the Intercontinental Championship against Dolph Ziggler.

It should be noted that it’s expected that Cena will defeat Styles at the Royal Rumble PPV in January. If the advertisement is a premonition of what to expect past the Royal Rumble, then that means Styles will retain the WWE Championship. Keep in mind that cards are always subject to change for an event and that WWE could change the advertisement after the Royal Rumble.
