NXT General Manager William Regal has announced that Drew McIntyre’s injury will prevent him from getting his NXT Championship rematch at NXT Takeover: Philadephia in January. Because of the injury, they will have to decide on a new challenger.
Regal announced that a series of singles matches will determine who will move on to a Fatal 4-Way match. The winner of the Fatal 4-Way match will go on to challenge Andrade “Cien” Almas for the NXT Championship at Takeover: Philadelphia on Saturday, January 27 at the Wells Fargo Center.
The four singles matches are Kassius Ohno vs. Velveteen Dream, Aleister Black vs. Adam Cole, Killian Dane vs. Trent Seven and Roderick Strong vs. Lars Sullivan.
The matches already took place on Thursday’s TV tapings and it’s interesting to note that one name was not included. It’s a big spoiler so you’ve been warned.
