WWE is always looking for the best talent to replenish their roster. Things have changed over the last couple of years and they seem to be open to getting talent from all promotions.
WWE was scouting talent Shimmer talent on 4/7, according to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter. Dave Meltzer noted that Tessa Blanchard, who was featured in last year’s Mae Young Classic, was said to be one of the standout performers. WWE obviously has a reason for why she wasn’t signed a few months ago because she was of the standout performers last year during the Mae Young Classic.
Blanchard cut a promo a few months ago at an independent show and alluded to what people were saying about attitude issues so that could be why WWE has yet to sign her. Mercedes Martinez was also said to be a standout.
Jazzy Gabert, another wrestler who was in the Mae Young Classic, was offered a contract but it was rescinded due to issues with her neck. Gabert expects to be recovered from surgery by November and then she will try one final time to get into WWE.
