Nikki Bella recently spoke with James Delow of the Gorilla Position podcast about her career-shortening neck surgery and more. During the interview, she noted that she tried to avoid neck surgery. She stated that when your legs and feet start to go numb, you just start to realize that something is happening. She noted that she was out for so long because she was trying to avoid surgery even though several surgeons told her that she couldn’t avoid it as nothing is going to fix this except for surgery.
She noted that with this surgery the craziest thing was to find out was that she was told that she could never wrestle again, but she didn’t accept that and pushed through it. She noted that she was so grateful to be back in the ring and that every time she gets into a ring, it’s a blessing, which is why she has a permanent smile on her face. She added that whoever would have thought that she would make a good babyface but it’s because she is so happy to be in the ring every time.
