Other cities in the running for WrestleMania 33 in 2017

As we first noted yesterday, Minnesota has been on WWE’s list of potential cities for a future WrestleMania. If they run in Minnesota then the show would be held at the US Bank Stadium in Minneapolis. After the video got out yesterday of the Vikings VP that seemingly confirmed WrestleMania in Minnesota, WWE sent out a carefully crafted statement that does not confirm or deny that they plan on running the show in Minnesota. Basically WWE said that they have not officially announced anything. The other leading candidate for 2017 would be Orlando.

I think Orlando would work out great for WWE because they can cut down on costs of flying out the NXT talent if they plan on running an NXT event. In addition, they already have the Performance Center and Full Sail Arena at their disposal for WrestleMania Week events.

I haven’t heard anything new on this but Philadelphia was expected to make a major play to get WrestleMania in 2017 so they may also still be in the running. The idea would be to run the show at Lincoln Financial Field. If Philadelphia is able to get WrestleMania then the WWE Hall Of Fame and Monday Night Raw after WrestleMania would be held at the Wells Fargo Center.
