Nixon Newell lit up the world’s indie wrestling scene and plenty of fans were excited to see her appear on WWE television as part of the Mae Young Classic but she was pulled from the inaugural event due to an untimely ACL injury. She recently returned from injury and there was no shortage of people paying attention to her.
Newell’s name not only trended on social media when she popped up at an NXT show after her ten-month hiatus but she also received a ton of praise from her peers. Nixon Newell’s story is one of true inspiration and staying the course to see out your dream. It will be exciting to see what Nixon Newell is able to do next in pro wrestling, but as long as she’s in WWE it looks like she’ll be under a different name.
It appears the WWE Performance Center website is listing Nixon Newell as Tegan Nox. This adds to the evergrowing list of Superstars who experienced a name change after coming to WWE. Countless people have needed to have their names switched up one way or another. Some just lose their first name but it looks like WWE decided to replace the Nixon Newell name altogether in favor of a totally new WWE Performance Center creation. It’s just a good thing WWE is switching around her name before the NXT Universe really got much of a chance to know her by her old name yet.
