Ronda Rousey was Nia Jax’s choice to face her at Money In The Bank but this decision isn’t without a lot of issues.
There are a few landmines that WWE doesn’t want to step on because the booking for this match needs to be done very carefully.
“You put Ronda Rousey in there with Nia Jax this early they could have a terrible match,” Dave Meltzer said on Wrestling Observer Radio. “Nia Jax is coming off a match against Alexa Bliss that was no good and they’re best friends and usually best friends work well together and I know Ronda Rousey is coming off a match that makes her looks better than Alexa Bliss has ever looked in her whole life but there’s a huge experience difference between the two of them.”
“Nia Jax is the wrong opponent, going to the title this early is ridiculous because there’s no chase. So what do you do about a finish? If you put Ronda Rousey over year it’s big news and everything like that but you didn’t even have the chase, you risk the resentment of some fans — the ‘you deserve it’ fans’ because they’ll be like, ‘you gave her the championship ahead of so many other women.’ Even though she’s more famous than all of them”
Therefore although you can never really predict what will happen when it comes to WWE’s booking decisions, with such a valuable asset like Ronda Rousey in the situation things need to be placed in a very careful order because any number of things could go wrong. Let’s just hope WWE has something good up their sleeves in a creative context because the build-up for this match was non-existent.
