The WWE Superstar Shake-Up looked to be a “win” for Smackdown Live when they got several stop stars including Samoa Joe, Jeff Hardy and Andrade “Cien” Almas with Zelina Vega. They also got a top NXT faction.
During a vignette that aired on Tuesday night, it was announced that SAnitY will be headed to Smackdown Live. They specifically featured Eric Young, Killian Dane, and Alexander Wolfe. However, Nikki Cross, the female member of the group was not featured.
That has led to all sorts of speculation online. One theory that was batted around was that perhaps they wanted to have her debut as Sister Abigail. Actually, that is not the case at all.
According to the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, she was kept back in NXT simply because she is needed to help out with the female roster. It makes sense to keep her in NXT right now because they’ve lost Ember Moon (Raw), Billie Kay and Peyton Royce (Smackdown Live).
It’s not clear what is next for Cross but she is promoting NXT Takeover: Chicago so it looks like she will be a part of that show. They could always have Cross join SAnitY on the main roster at a later date.
