Over the last several months, WWE has made some changes to 205 Live. If you haven’t been watching the show, you should give it another shot because they have ditched the goofy storylines in favor of more in-ring action. It might take some more time but the show has been winning over crowds despite the fact that many of the fans in attendance are probably not watching the show on a week-to-week basis.
The changes that were implemented back in January meant that the cruiserweights would no longer be featured on Raw going forward. PWInsider reported that the reason why talents were pulled from Raw is that the decision was made as a way to keep them from being overexposed.
Triple H is running the ship at 205 Live and one of the big goals is to change the fan perception from smaller guys that are just a sideshow to guys that should be treated seriously because they can go in the ring. The long-term goal is to go back on the road with standalone shows. They ran a couple of shows back in January but the decision was made to hold off on future 205 Live house shows until they could get more stream behind the brand.
So, if you were wondering why you no longer see the cruiserweights on Raw, there is your answer.
