It looks like former WWE World Heavyweight Champion Rey Mysterio’s return date to the company is set. “The Master Of The 619” reportedly signed a two-year deal with WWE last month. Initially, Mysterio wanted to negotiate an 18-month deal, but WWE was dead set on locking Mysterio down for two years.
Mysterio did, however, work in a clause into the contract that said if he wanted to leave after 18 months, he could. He made his return to WWE back in January at the Royal Rumble, entering the 30-man Battle Royal. The Mexican star returned a few months later for the Greatest Royal Rumble match from Saudi Arabia in April.
WWE and Mysterio had been working on getting a contract together since then. Now, per a report from PWInsider, Mysterio is set to make his WWE return in two weeks at the special SmackDown 1000 episode in Washington D.C. It’s currently unknown if Mysterio will be joining the SmackDown Live brand.
