Roman Reigns on Ryback’s claim about match finish being changed, WWE breaking up The Shield, more

Roman Reigns recently appeared on Talk is Jericho to talk about various topics. During the interview, he was asked how he got into The Shield. He said that he guesses that it was CM Punk’s idea to have a group of guys and that Triple H and Vince McMahon picked him to be in the group.

When asked what he loved about the group, he said that he thinks that there was one thing about it that he enjoyed, which was that they were a real team. They celebrated together and they were sold together. He added that it was really cool to him and thinks that is what got them over with the fans as they seemed like brothers in the ring.

When asked about Ryback’s claim that The Shield got the finish of the 2013 Elimination Chamber match changed against John Cena and Sheamus. Reigns said that he feels like he heard what Ryback was talking about and that they were all in a six-man tag team match and WWE booked Cena to go over in the match because he was about to wrestle The Rock at WrestleMania. Reigns said that they got the finish changed and Cena was a good sport about it and understood it.

When asked if The Shield broke up at the right time, he said that he thought it was too early and that he thought that they needed a long babyface run. He said that he thought that he was going to get hot for a minute as it was working and helping all of them. He said that for the fans to really care about their break up they needed to love them and thought that they had the ability to do that. He said that they hoped that they would change their characters a little bit but the way they broke up was the way that they couldn’t be able to do that.
