There’s been some buzz in recent days about the advertisement that aired in South Africa for February’s Elimination Chamber pay-per-view. The ad features Braun Strowman with the WWE Universal Championship, Brock Lesnar, Roman Reigns, Cesaro, Finn Balor and Big Cass.
The ad seemingly revealed that Lesnar would be losing the WWE Universal Championship at the Royal Rumble but that is not necessarily the case. The commercial (click here to see the screenshot) really did air on Supersport in South Africa but it was not something that was created by WWE. The graphic that was shown was taken from a fan-made YouTube video that was created back in August.
So it does not look like the match (at least not with all of those participants) will be taking place. Big Cass has a torn ACL and that type of injury typically can take 2-9 months for recover so he could, in theory, be back by February but it’s more likely that he’ll miss WrestleMania.
In the case of Lesnar and Strowman, my guess is that Kane will take the fall and Lesnar will retain and then focus his sights on the WrestleMania main event.
