The current plan for the winner of Sunday’s Extreme Rules Fatal 5-Way match is for that person to get a “one and done” title shot against Brock Lesnar. Lesnar is sort of a tweener (not complete heel, not complete babyface) so it’s anyone’s guess as to who he will face at Great Balls Of Fire.
On Tuesday’s Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer noted that the plan is still for Braun Strowman to challenge for the Universal Championship against Brock Lesnar at SummerSlam so that pretty much tells us what the result will be at July’s Great Balls Of Fire pay-per-view, regardless of who he faces.
Roman Reigns is scheduled to face Lesnar at WrestleMania so that likely crosses him out as the winner at Extreme Rules. I don’t think WWE would want to do a long-term program between Lesnar and Balor so Balor would make the most sense and they’ve already teased a future Lesnar vs. Balor match. Rollins would make sense to be Lesnar’s opponent after SummerSlam.
As of this writing, Lesnar is advertised for the following shows:
June 12 – Monday Night Raw in Lafayette
June 26 – Monday Night Raw in Los Angeles
July 3 – Monday Night Raw in Phoenix
July 9 – WWE Great Balls of Fire PPV
July 10 – Monday Night Raw in Houston
July 31 – Monday Night Raw in Pittsburgh
August 20 – WWE SummerSlam in Brooklyn
I should note that he might be appearing in dark segments on some of those Raw shows.
