WWE SmackDown Live spoilers: NXT star debuts, a dream match, Survivor Series news, more

Tonight’s episode of SmackDown Live is being taped early because they are in Manchester, England.

They taped SmackDown before 205 Live this week.

Here are the spoilers (refresh for updates):

The show started with an in-ring segment with SmackDown Live Commissioner Shane McMahon and General Manager Paige. McMahon admits that he is not the best in the world and the World Cup trophy belongs to SmackDown Live. There were CM Punk chants during this segment that will probably be edited by tonight. Fans were very negative on Shane McMahon. He said that he was just acting on instinct. This came across like they might be holding back on his heel turn…maybe.

It was announced that Raw Tag team Champions AOP would take on SmackDown Tag Team Champions The Bar at Survivor Series in another champion vs. champion match.

Daniel Bryan was announced as the team captain for Team SmackDown at Survivor Series. The Miz interrupted Bryan because he was not happy about this news. Miz wants to be captain so Shane McMahon agreed and decided that Miz and Bryan will be co-captains.

Matches advertised for tonight: Rey Mysterio vs. Andrade “Cien” Almas and The New Day vs. The Usos.

The Usos vs. The New Day is next. The Usos won, which means they will be the captains for the Survivor Series tag team elimination match. This was said to be a very good match.

During a backstage segment, Daniel Bryan picked Rey Mysterio as the next member of Team SmackDown at Survivor Series.

Up next…Becky Lynch in-ring promo. She addressed Ronda Rousey’s comments from Raw and said that Rousey has yet to be tested.

Lynch was interrupted by SAnitY’s music. SAnitY, with Nikki Cross, walked out. A match was made. Becky Lynch vs. Nikki Cross ended with Cross tapping to the disarm-her submission in less than 5 minutes.

In a backstage segment, Daniel Bryan picked Jeff Hardy but Miz wanted Samoa Joe. The winner of Joe vs. Hardy will get a spot on Team SmackDown at Survivor Series.

There was a promo on the big screen from Shinsuke Nakamura talking about what he will do to Seth Rollins at Survivor Series.

Rey Mysterio vs. Andrade “Cien” Almas. Mysterio won in what was said to be a very good match. For some reason, Randy Orton walked out after the match and delivered an RKO to Mysterio.

After the match, it was confirmed by Daniel Bryan that Mysterio is on Team SmackDown for Survivor Series.

AJ Styles promo on the big screen. He talked about his upcoming match with Brock Lesnar at Survivor Series.

General Manager Paige confirmed the following names for the SmackDown women’s team at Survivor Series: Carmella, Naomi, Sonya Deville, Asuka and Charlotte Flair. Mandy Rose wanted to know why she was not picked to be on the team. There was a staredown between Rose and Deville. Everyone, except Charlotte, was in the ring during this segment.

Jeff Hardy vs. Samoa Joe.

The match ended when Hardy went for the Swanton but Joe got his knees up and the locked in the Coquina Clutch. Hardy tapped and this means Joe will be on Team SmackDown at Survivor Series.

Chaos ensued after the match. Bryan attacked Joe, then Miz attacked Bryan. Shane McMahon walked out. Bryan attacked Shane and then Bryan left.

That was the end of the taping.
