Talks ongoing to bring the “Broken” Hardy characters to WWE

As previously noted, there are talks for WWE to get the rights to use the “Broken” Hardy gimmick. In the latest Wrestling Observer newsletter, Dave Meltzer noted that WWE is attempting to make a deal with Anthem Sports & Entertainment (Impact Wrestling’s parent company) so everything is on hold regarding plans for the “Broken” character until a deal can be reached.

Matt has been doing regular interviews since his return to WWE but has been sneaking in some of his verbiage with the accent he used while in Impact Wrestling. He has also kept the blonde streak in his hair so it’s clear that he has plans to revive the character. Perhaps, the way to make The Hardys broken again would be for them to snap when they get screwed out of the Raw Tag Team titles. That’s just an idea.

On social media, Matt has been alternating between being “Broken” one day, being “Mattitude” on another day and recently he has been calling himself “Brother Moore.” He’s also called himself “Torn Matt Hardy.” Anthem has not claimed ownership of “Brother Moore” (Moore is Matt’s middle name) but oddly have claimed ownership of “Brother Nero” (Jeff Hardy) even though Nero is Jeff’s real middle name.
