John Cena, who is currently filming the Transformers ‘Bumblebee’ spinoff movie, has been pulled from advertising for the Survivor Series in Houston. This would be his third straight year missing that show. However, Brock Lesnar has been added to the show. As of right now, we don’t know who Lesnar will be facing but there has been talk of Finn Balor challenging him for the Universal Championship after he is done with his feud with Bray Wyatt.
On the Raw Talk after the No Mercy pay-per-view, Cena said that he would need to re-evaluate things going forward because he cannot keep up a full-time schedule especially now at 40 years old but he is not retiring. So, I guess this means that we won’t see him until the end of the year. He is advertised for shows on 12/26 (WWE’s holiday show at MSG in NYC), 12/27 (Uniondale, NY), 12/29 (Albany, NY), and 12/30 (a Smackdown-branded show in Tampa, FL).
In addition to the Survivor Series on 11/19, Lesnar is also advertised for Raw in Green Bay on 10/23 and Raw in Atlanta on 11/13, the go-home show for Survivor Series.
This year’s Survivor Series is part of another mega-weekend of shows for WWE that will all take place at the Toyota Center in Houston, TX. NXT Takeover: War Games will take place on 11/18, Survivor Series on 11/19, Monday Night Raw on 11/20, and Smackdown Live on 11/21.
We already know a few matches taking place at Takeover: War Games, including the return of the actual 2-ring War Games match. It’s a spoiler from the NXT TV tapings so we won’t talk about it here but click here if you want to know more.
