Big Match John looked like he was taking a considerable hiatus from WWE following his No Mercy loss to Roman Reigns. It was being reported he was expected back at Survivor Series and then everyone’s hopes were dashed as Super Cena was then pulled from the advertisements for the big November WWE PPV.
Dave Meltzer noted in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that John Cena’s next advertised WWE date is now scheduled for the December 26th Madison Square Garden house show. So it looks like fans in the New York area will be getting a rather nice late-Christmas present in the form of John Cena.
Lucha Underground has been on shaky ground ever since the conclusion of their third season. A fourth season hasn’t been announced and it might take some time to pull it together seeing how they have to book the venue and talent, tape the shows, edit them, and then schedule a debut. The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports Lucha Underground may continue but if it does there will likely be some changes involved.
El Rey Network wants Lucha Underground to return and they will pay for it as well. However, El Rey won’t pay anywhere close to what Lucha Underground actually needs to operate. Therefore if it does come back it’s likely they won’t have the same funds, therefore, the production quality might need to be sacrificed a bit if they wish to continue.
