Every few months or so, the Rob Van Dam to WWE rumors pop up. Earlier this year, there were rumors that he would be back with the company after the tour of Australia but a WWE source told us that there had been no talks to bring him back. There’s been some chatter online in recent days that he could show up at No Mercy since will be close to the Staples Center.
Actually, RVD will be in Los Angeles this Sunday but it’s not related to WWE No Mercy. He will be there for a fundraiser featuring current WWE names. The “Booker T: Live In Hollywood” fundraiser will raise funds for victims of Hurricane Harvey and the guests being advertised alongside Booker include Kurt Angle, Corey Graves, RVD and Goldust.
On Thursday, RVD told Sports Illustrated’s Justin Barrasso that he has no plans to return to WWE at the current moment but there’s always a possibility that he could return. In the meantime, he’s booked through most of 2018. He said, “I’m looking at 24 matches, all international, booked over the next 12 months.”
In regards to his relationship with WWE, he said, “I’ve talked to WWE recently, but it’s about the new video games that are coming out. That was more of a business talk about that, but when the business is right and it’s the right time to go back, that, of course, is then always a possibility.” RVD turns 47 in December and at this stage, it’s highly unlikely that we’ll see him in the ring full-time again
The “Booker T: Live In Hollywood” fundraiser will take place at Lucky Strike Hollywood at 6801 Hollywood Blvd and doors open at 8:30 pm. Ticket prices start at $10 and they can be purchased at bookertlive.com.
