The one and only Terry Funk returned to the ring on Friday night in Raleigh, NC to team with the Rock ‘n’ Roll Express against long-time rival Jerry “The King” Lawler, Brian Christopher and Doug Gilbert.
The match was billed as Funk’s last one in the state of North Carolina and was considered to be a trainwreck (in a good way, according to some reports) but there was no real finish. After the match, Funk took a wicked shot to the head from a chair that was thrown into the ring by Lawler.
Afterwards, Funk walked around the ring and shook hands with everyone and thanked the crowd for coming out to see an “old fart.”
