Have you noticed how WWE has not addressed an obvious question regarding the Bray Wyatt vs. Randy Orton match at WWE Payback? If Wyatt (a Raw Superstar) wins the WWE Championship, then does he take the SMACKDOWN CHAMPIONSHIP to Monday Night Raw? Well, there appears to be an explanation for everything.
WWE is being very careful to not mention the championship. In fact, in their match previews on WWE.com, there is no mention of the championship. Orton can be seen with the title in the match graphic but there have been no mentions about a title defense on the website or on WWE TV. Also, they are already looking ahead to Jinder Mahal challenging for the title at next month’s Backlash show.
If Orton is not defending the title on the show, then this may be the first time in many years that the major title is not defended on a major WWE show. The main selling point for the match is the House of Horrors. As of this writing, there has been no explanation from WWE on what that match entails but they did send out a survey recently that gives us an idea of what they might have planned for the match. Also, Edge and Christian gave some insight on what WWE may have in mind.
