January will not only be the start of a new calendar year, but there could also be some exciting things coming for WWE’s cruiserweight roster. Once thought of as the forgotten roster in WWE, this talented group of individuals might soon have their very own niche carve out a bigger place for themselves in the pro wrestling landscape.
The first shows will be from January 18th to January 20th and are booked to be in smaller buildings much like the NXT brand. It looks like WWE is starting slowly with this idea of booking a couple events over a weekend once a month.
Vince McMahon did note in February during a quarterly earnings call that there were plans to create some revenue sources from the brand and the 205 Live show has done better since the addition of Enzo Amore and the impending debut of Hideo Itami will certainly add another big name to the brand. Triple H has also said before that the long-term plans are for 205 Live to become a touring brand.
If all goes well there could be some really cool things for the guys on 205 Live.
WWE has announced the following live events for 205 Live:
Friday, Jan. 19, 2018 – Kingston, RI – The Ryan Center
Saturday, Jan. 20, 2018 – Lowell, MA – Lowell Auditorium
Sunday, Jan. 21, 2018 – Poughkeepsie, NY – Mid Hudson Civic Center
Tickets will go on sale on Friday, December 8 at 10 am eastern.
