Welcome to WWE Monday Night RAW, there is a recap video of last week’s episode of RAW where Braun Strowman attacked Roman Reigns. Strowman walked down to the ring to open the show. Strowman said that he is proud to say that he broke Reigns in half last week and that he left in an ambulance. Strowman is proud that Reigns will not be here tonight. Strowman plans to run through the RAW roster because he is the man among men. This led to Kurt Angle walking down to the ring. Angle asked him what he is trying to prove and brought up Strowman’s attack on Reigns. Angle booked Reigns vs. Strowman at Payback. Strowman said that it would be Reigns’ funeral. Strowman asked about tonight. Angle said that Strowman should be suspended and Strowman has the night off. Strowman said that he wants more competition or else. Angle or else what? Strowman stared him down and walked to the back.
Dean Ambrose will appear on Miz TV later tonight.
Singles Match: Chris Jericho vs. Samoa Joe with Seth Rollins on commentary.
They start brawling to begin the match. Jericho tossed him to the floor and hit a springboard drop kick to send us to break.
We’re back with Joe in control of Jericho. Moments later, Jericho fought back and hit a double axe off the top rope. Joe cut him off with a powerslam for 2. Joe with a chokeslam but missed a back splash off the middle rope. Jericho went for the Walls of Jericho and got it. However, Joe got out of it with right hands. Joe locked in the Coquina Clutch for the win.
Winner: Samoa Joe.
Post-match, Joe grabbed a microphone and asked if Rollins remembers what it sounded like when he debut. He said that it was the sound of bones popping of Rollins. Joe said that Rollins was a target set in stone by Triple H. Joe said that he cares about clientele and that he when they step into the ring at Payback it’s going to be personal. Rollins said that Payback is a b*tch.
We see Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows passing by Elias Samson backstage while he played his guitar.
A referee told Strowman to leave but ultimately backed down.
Anderson and Gallows walked down to the ring. They said that they came to WWE to be mean and make green. Since they don’t have opponents for tonight, they issued a challenge, which was answered by Enzo Amore and Big Cass.
Tag Team Match: Enzo Amore & Big Cass vs. Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson.
Cass and Anderson started things off. Cass kicked Anderson out of the ring and sent Amore into Gallows and Anderson to send us to break.
We’re back with Gallows in control of Amore. Moments later, Amore fought back and got the hot tag to Big Cass, who hit a side slam to Anderson then the Empire Elbow. Cass hit the big boot then tagged in Amore, who took out Gallows with a dive. Cass hit a big boot to Gallows to send him to the floor. Anderson tossed Amore into the turnbuckle for the win.
Winner: Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson.
The Miz and Maryse walked down to the ring for Miz TV. Just as Miz was about to start his promo, Dean Ambrose walked out to the ring. Miz said that Ambrose makes them look like a bunch of rasslers. He brought up how Ambrose ruined his momentum after winning Intercontinental Champion and barely a blimp on the WrestleMania 33 card. Miz said that Ambrose never broke the glass ceiling is due to him being lazy and complacent. He said that it doesn’t matter what he is wearing but what he has in his heart. Ambrose said that Miz cares about what people think about him. He said that he is not a brand but rather himself. Ambrose said that he does this because he loves it and busting his ass every night. He said that he is the reason he is the Intercontinental Champion. Ambrose brought up beating Miz for the title. Maryse grabbed the mic and called him a rat. Maryse said that Ambrose isn’t a real champion. Maryse said that the man makes the championship. Ambrose pulled out cash, and other items then took off his jacket while Miz continued to talk. He said that Ambrose turned the title into a joke, which led to Ambrose attacking the Miz. Maryse hit Ambrose in the back with the microphone. Miz retreated to the back while Ambrose stood tall in the ring.
Big Show shoulder blocked Strowman backstage and told him to pick on someone his own size.
Singles Match: TJ Perkins vs. Jack Gallagher – Austin Aries and Neville were sitting at ringside.
Perkins got in some early offensive. Gallagher fought back with a series of right hands but Perkins knocked him to the floor.
We’re back from break with Perkins in control. Moments later, Gallagher fought back and hit an outside dive. Perkins pushed Gallagher into Aries. Aries got on the apron but Neville took out Aries’ legs. Perkins hit his finisher to Gallagher for the win.
#1 Contender’s Fatal-4 Way Match: Nia Jax vs. Mickie James vs. Sasha Banks vs. Alexa Bliss.
Jax attacked all of them to begin the match.
We’re back with Jax hitting a powerslam to Bliss then locked in an arm submission on James. This led to James attempting to fight back but Jax started choking her. James locked in an armbar but Jax got out. Bliss sent Jax into the ring post. James hit a clothesline then a kick to Bliss. James with a forearm shot and went for her finisher but Banks clotheslines her and Bliss. Banks caught a kick and kicked Bliss. Banks sent James into Bliss then hit a knee drop to Bliss for 2. James sent Jax head first to the apron then Bliss sent James into Jax. Banks locked in the Bank Statement but James broke it up. Banks and James exchanged forearm shots. James with a facebuster then went to the top rope but Banks knocked her down. Jax knocked James off the top rope and hit the samoan drop to Banks. Bliss drop kicked Jax out of the ring and Bliss pinned Banks for the win.
Winner: Bliss, who will now challenge Bayley for the RAW Women’s Title at the upcoming Payback PPV event.
Big Show cut a backstage promo about giving Braun Strowman a dose of his own medicine tonight.
Curt Hawkins cut a promo in the ring about how Superstars wanting to be main eventers need to step into the ring with him. Finn Balor walked out.
Singles Match: Finn Balor vs. Curt Hawkins.
Balor hit a drop kick then hit double foot stomp finisher for the win.
A promo for Sleight was shown.
Chris Jericho cuts a backstage promo about his upcoming match with Kevin Owens at Payback. He was about to add the backstage interviewer to The List but Elias Samson walked by. Jericho added to Samson to The List.
Bray Wyatt cuts a backstage promo about his upcoming match with Randy Orton at Payback. Wyatt said that he will make Orton feel fear and pain and suffering. He said that pain and suffering will empower him.
Singles Match: Jeff Hardy vs. Cesaro.
They locked up then Jeff sent him to the floor and hit an outside dive. Cesaro hit an uppercut. Back in the ring, Jeff knocked him down and Cesaro rolled to the floor.
We’re back with Cesaro in control of Hardy. Moments later, Jeff fought back but ate an uppercut for a near fall. Hardy knocked him down and hit a dropkick then a splash for 2. Cesaro hit an uppercut for 2. Cesaro hit a springboard uppercut for 2. Hardy hit a spinning kick then went to the top rope but Cesaro caught him with an uppercut. Cesaro went for a superplex but Hard blocked it and sent him to the top rope then hit a dropkick sending him to the floor. Hardy hit Whisper in the Wind for 2. Hardy hit a drop kick in the corner then missed one and Cesaro covered him for 2. Hardy hit Twist of Fate then went to the top rope and hit Swanton Bomb for the win.
Singles Match: Big Show vs. Braun Strowman.
They start brawling to begin the match. Show tossed him into the steel steps and Strowman sent him into the barricade. Show hit a baseball slide and sent him into the steel steps. Back in the ring, they exchange wrist locks. Strowman knocked him down and worked him over. Moments later, Show fought back and placed him on the top rope. Strowman knocked him down but Show caught him and hit a chokeslam for 2. Strowman hit his finisher for 2. Strowman went to the top rope but Big Show knocked him down. Show hit the KO Punch but Strowman kicked out at 2. Show hit a suplex off the top rope and the ring broke.
Strowman stood tall as the referees checked on Big Show to close the show.
