Here’s some WWE news and notes:
– Hulk Hogan put down $1.6 million on a bungalow in Clearwater, Florida. The Hulkster seems to be doing very well these days after his court case victory over Gawker. It’s a four-bedroom, two-bathroom place next to the mansion he already owns.
– In the latest Wrestling Observer newsletter, it was noted that the comments from Alberto Del Rio about Andrade “Cien” Almas being unhappy in WWE were not comments that were meant to throw Almas under the bus. Apparently, it’s common knowledge among fans there that Almas has been unhappy but it’s possible that WWE higher-ups did not know until Del Rio talked about it publicly.
– Big Show and Mark Henry are being transitioned into doing more public relations work and less wrestling. Big Show did an interview this week where he acknowledged that this upcoming WrestleMania could be his last big WrestleMania moment because he realizes that the younger talent will be getting the big spots in the coming years. He is scheduled to wrestle Shaquille O’Neal on that show. He noted that he has 1 and a half years left on his current deal.
– WWE caught up with Ted DiBiase, Jr. in this week’s “Where Are They Now?” feature on WWE.com. You can check it out by clicking here. He noted that it was a tough decision to step away in 2013 but he wanted to spend more time with his family. He runs youth camp these days and seems to be adjusting well in his post-WWE life.
