It’s unclear what is next for the WWE Universal Championship and there are more questions after Paul Heyman’s recent Facebook post that included shots at the WWE.com staff and several members of the Raw roster.
Following Heyman’s post, Bobby Lashley chimed in on Twitter and seemed ready for a match with Lesnar. Roman Reigns also chimed in with a response on Twitter.
On the latest “WWE Now,” Cathy Kelley said that Heyman’s lengthy Facebook rant came as a result of stalled contract negotiations. Kelley said that “both sides have failed to reach an agreement.”
For those of you keeping up with the behind-the-scenes news, Dave Meltzer reported that the tentative idea for SummerSlam is for Reigns to challenge Lesnar again for the Universal Title at SummerSlam. Also, when Bobby Lashley was in talks with WWE, he was under the impression that a match with Lesnar was on the table. So it would make sense to chime on Twitter after Heyman’s post.
As of this writing, WWE is either doing a great job at keeping things top secret or there are genuine questions regarding Lesnar’s future as rumors swirl about his return to the UFC. Perhaps, we’ll get some clarity after the Extreme Rules pay-per-view.
