Jim Ross explains why WWE booked Brock Lesnar against Kofi Kingston at the Beast In The East special

WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross has posted a Q&A entry over at his website where he gives his thoughts on why he thinks WWE booked Brock Lesnar vs. Kofi Kingston at Saturday’s WWE Japan special, if he thinks WWE is counter-programming ROH Field of Honor with NXT Takeover and more.

Ross on why he thinks Brock Lesnar faced Kofi Kingston at Saturday’s WWE Japan special:

“It makes all the sense as Lesnar will destroy THREE people instead of just one and will look MORE impressive in doing so.”

Ross on if he thinks WWE is counter-programming ROH Field of Honor with NXT Takeover:

“No, I don’t. It’s also the same time as my show at the Gramercy Theatre. It’s just business. It’s just business and NXT having a prime time show on Saturday Aug 22 was expected. We can always go earlier in the day if the promoter feels we need to do so. That will be addressed this week”
