Here is some more information on Bruno Sammartino’s recent surgery. Basically, his legs were feeling unsteady when he was in San Jose for WrestleMania weekend. Then just over a month ago his legs gave out and he fell down while in his home and a couple of days later his leg swelled up to twice the size of his other leg.
Dr. Joseph Maroon, a close friend of Sammartino who also happens to be WWE’s doctor, found out that the damage was coming from his back. Sammartino was in and out of the hospital. Maroon did a delicate back operation on him and since then (about a week or so ago) Sammartino has been out of the hospital and is not using too much medication and he’s not in too much pain.
Sammartino is using a walker for now but he’s increasing his distance each day so he can build up to walking again on his own.
