Long-time WWE writer leaves WWE and goes to work for The Rock

Brian Gewirtz gave notice to WWE a few weeks ago but the story just got out this past week. Gewirtz had been with the company for 15 years and was on the creative team until October 2012. He was still under contract since 2012 but pretty much worked from home and would sometimes sent in scripts. He was also a consultant for the WWE Network. He was basically in a consultant position for creative since 2012 so he would come into the office every other week and much of the current crew didn’t know him much.

Gewirtz was used when The Rock was in to do angles since he is close with The Rock and since he’s been Rock’s main writer during the last few years. Gewirtz is taking a job in Rock’s “Seven Bucks Entertainment” company that is headed by Rock’s ex-wife/business partner Dany Garcia.

Gerwitz said his goodbyes to everyone at the 6/29 Raw in Washington, DC.
