Eric Van Wagenen, who is a producer on Lucha Underground, appeared on this week’s Wrestling Compadres podcast and dropped some potentially good news for fans of their product. He stated that there will be a second season of the show.
“I can tell you with almost full certainty that it is going to happen. The when and the where is all dependent on our ability to raise enough money to keep the production standards the same. We are all very committed to keeping Lucha Underground the best looking, most innovative and most creative wrestling product out there. Sometimes it comes at a price. Vignettes, editing, they’re not cheap. El Rey is a great network to work with, they just can’t justify spending the kind of money that you would get from much bigger cable channel.”
